How
to perform two Rakaahs of Salaah
- Before Salaah, ensure that your clothes are clean, and you are with
Wudhu.
- First Rakaah. Facing the Ka'bah, stand with the feet about 10 to 15
cm apart with the toes pointing towards the Qiblah
(This posture is called Qiyaam). Hands hang loosely on the sides. Look
at the spot where the forehead would rest in Sajdah.
- Make the intention (Niyyah) of the Salaah both in the mind and verbally
as follows:
"Facing the Ka'bah, I intend performing (two, three or four)
(Fard, Sunnah or Nafl)
Rakaahs of Fajr, Thuhr, Asr, Maghrib or Esha Salaah for Allah."
In the event of your performing Salaah behind an Imaam, mention the
words "behind the Imaam" before the words "for Allah".
- Raise your hands to the ear lobes with the fingers relaxed (not closed
tightly not spread broadly), and say the words
"ALLAHU
AKBAR"
This is called
TAKBEER-E-TAHREEMAH
